IRIS is Initiative for Research & Innovation in Science. Running currently for the tenth year, it is India’s largest science and engineering fair for innovative research based projects at the school and junior college level. The IRIS National Fair provides a platform for students from class 5-12 to showcase their work in different areas of   physical and life sciences, mathematics, engineering and social sciences.

The primary objective of IRIS is to infuse a spirit of discovery in school children, promote hands-on exploration and investigative learning in different areas of science and technology, and unearth innovative ideas that can change the world around us.

Minor planets named after IRIS winners!

Three 'minor planets' were christened ‘Vaishnav’, 'Mukherjee' and 'Sarkar', named after three of IRIS 2008 and Intel ISEF 2009 winners. The initiative in bestowing the celestial honor has been taken by the by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Lincoln Laboratory to appreciate the work done by our students, Hetal Vaishnav, Anish Mukherjee and Debarghya Sarkar.
